About this site
An independent site on ordinary magic.
annmasten.org gathers public, sourced information about the resilience science of Professor Ann S. Masten, and supports a fundraiser for the Navid Izadi School of Music + Art.
What it is
What you will find here.
The site has three parts:
- Her research, explained. Plain-language pages on ordinary magic, the short list of resilience factors, her scholarship, books, talks and videos, plus a research atlas and a connections map.
- A fundraiser. The Give page supports the Navid Izadi School of Music + Art instrument campaign run by Moms Against Poverty. The Ayande page covers Navid Izadi’s album, and the children’s arts fundraisers page links out to other public fundraisers for children’s music and art education.
- The Children’s Funding Desk. A separate public-data resource listing open grant calls, awards, new research and children’s fundraisers. It is not about Dr. Masten and she has no role in it.
Independence
Independent, not a university site.
annmasten.org is an independent site. It is not an official University of Minnesota site, and the University of Minnesota is not affiliated with it or the campaign and has not endorsed them. Moms Against Poverty runs the featured campaign and has not endorsed this site.
For her university profile, see the University of Minnesota Institute of Child Development (opens in a new tab).
Sources and accuracy
How the pages are checked.
Facts on this site come from public sources: her published papers and books, University of Minnesota pages, publishers, award bodies and the campaign and album pages. Quotes are taken word for word from the cited source, and pages note the date sources were checked.
